Scenes from Mitzvah Day
Mitzvah Day 2011

June 5, 2011

Breakfast 9:00 Convocation 9:20 Ice cream Social 3:30

For its 10thyear anniversary, Mitzvah Day is going green. Please look over the projects list below and decide where you want to help out. So far, we have 15 projects, eight at the temple and seven off-site.

At the temple we have our usual projects including the car wash, caring yarns, cleaning the copy room, the kitchen, and the shed, as well as mulching and planting. In addition, extensive planning has gone into building a Havdallah garden. The children’s mitzvot will be to create container gardens and bird feeders. For these activities there is no need to officially sign up, however sending the project leader a quick email is highly suggested. In addition, if you are planning to garden or knit, please bring gardening tools and needles.

Our off-site projects include painting a few rooms at the House of Hope, preparing and serving food at the Middlesex Transitional Living Center, singing at the Atrium, and sorting at the Lowell Wish Project. New this year, and in the spirit of being green, we are doing lots of cleaning up and gardening. Our new affiliations include the Chelmsford Community Gardens, the Paul Center, and the Ronan McElligott Playground. For these projects it is essential that we know who is coming and that we have enough people to help out, so please, please, please contact the project leader!

To keep our Mitzvah Day (Sunday, June 5) volunteers going, we will be hosting a light breakfast at 9 AM and an ice cream sundae bar at 3:30 PM, free of charge (lunch will also be available for a nominal charge). Please contact Shari Moskowitz (shari.moskowitz@gmail.com or (603) 673-7669 if you can donate one or more of the following items (alternatively, grocery gift cards will also be accepted):
