Adult Education is offers Midrash study. This is a form of rabbinic literature that seeks to find insights and meaning in Torah that that go beyond the "plain meaning of the text (Isaacs). Midrash helps us to make the words of Torah real for us today. Our lives are filled with complex and difficult issues and Midrash, in its imaginative play with Torah, helps us to confront these issues as well as making the "plain meaning alive with possibilities. The Midrash study group will meet once a month on Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9 PM.

One of the hallmarks of Jewish life is Torah study. As Jacob wrestled with God at Jabbok, we are also asked to "wrestle" with Him by immersing ourselves in the beauty of His Torah. 'Swimming in the sea of Torah" calls us to hear God enticing us to a fuller Jewish life. Please bring a cup of coffee and your favorite text of Torah. Meetings will be from 9 to 10 AM in the temple library or the Rabbi's study. Come join our study group as we engage the Torah and develop new layers of understanding of God's call to us. The Torah study group will meet once a month on Saturday mornings. |
